THIS Buddhist Film Festival 2012 - The Outrage 善恶无赦... Rashomon 羅生門

though a bit tiring to follow the english sub-title after the morning trek... i enjoyed 'the outrage 善恶无赦  (U-Mong Pha Meung)' yesterday...

...seeing the monk frowning kind of made me frowned too...haha i forgotten the fact that the monk is seeking enlightenment one but not the awakened one, 'can will frown' just like anyone of us...

The new interpretation of the renown Rashomon 羅生門 by using ancient Lanna Region as the setting.

The Outrage tells a story of the crime mystery about a Warrior, a Bandit and the Lady- wife of the Warrior; told through the conversation between a young monk, a woodcutter and an undertaker. The audiences will be the one who will unveil the mystery and search for the unimaginable truth from the start until the finish.

The story is adapted from a play "Rashomon 羅生門" by M.R. Kukrit Pramoj which is an play based on an ancient tale from the Japanese poet, Ryūnosuke Akutagawa. The renown movie "Rashomon 羅生門" by Akira Kurosawa is also based on the same tale.

A proud warrior travelling with his low born wife, were captured and abused at the hand of a bandit. When the bandit is taken to court on the charge of the warrior's murder, mysterious stories are unveiled. The bandit admits to his crime of murder, while the wife claims that she is the one who killed her husband. The governor has no choice but to hire the medium to speak on behalf of the dead warrior. The warrior claims that he commit suicide due to shame.

The eyewitnesses were called to testify. A young monk who is the last person to see the couple before the tragedy and the woodcutter who found the body.

Whose version of the events is true? Can any of them be trusted?

renmin had her most delicious iced-milo ever while we rested in the summit hut lol... i was pleasantly surprised that renmin said she still wanna join us next time :)

1418 before leaving the summit hut...it was raining, so we down via the 'black oil road'

1516 @Mc beauty world... mocha or caramel frappe...since got offer by flashing the e-coupon via mobile phone @$2 instead of $3.45(i think)...yihui, renyi and myself ordered this while renmin ordered a set meal...i went answering urgent call after paying, so renyi and renmin waited for the order while yihui 'chope'd'* the seats...when i was back they told me they were given an extra mocha frappe...haha so we had a 'further discount' or 'buy 3 get 1 free'?

04AUG12 SAT afternoon, yihui WhatsApp me, asking if we are going to bt timah hill the next day... they were all so exhausted last sunday... i was pleasantly surprised that they wanna do it again this sunday... she said angel wanna 'UP' by the slope not the steps hahaha... i asked her to tell angel no slope only steps...

we started from Petir Road, near Pending LRT... our first time up Bt Timah Hill via Dairy Farm...

too tough for angel??? [dun belittle kids' potential ==> see next week trek]

finally reached bukit timah summit...all exhausted...

...too exhausted...they refused to walk the same path back... so we descended the easy route, the 'black oil road' followed by taking bus home:)

angel wanna play at the playground...so we turned in to Hindhede Nature Park...too bad invaded by monkeys...indeed a Monkey Playground

yearly TI9001 gathering... coincidentally WanYee was back from Tennessee :)

i'd long wanted to try the nepali cuisines here, so suggested this place...

Soup of the day... Celery Carrot Soup...yum yum

this pakora rather mini and dry compared to what i had in nepal...so i reckon the dryness was due to the small pieces...those i had in nepal were at least 1x bigger and still had some moist and the vege texture...

Chicken MoMo S$8.50
the momo skin was more 'refined' than those i had in india, nepal and tibet... but the sauce rather mild, um...to me 'no kick'...

i had US Pork Rack and st had Rack of Lamb... i cut half of the pork for st and st cut half of the lamb for me... i thought the pork tasted nicer and st thought the lamb nicer... i reckon both also nice just that the portions cut off the plate were rather dry with just very little sauce...

6 of us, each ordered a main, added S$3 each for the soup+bread, hot drink and dessert, 4 added S$1 each to change the hot drink to cold one... total bill S$128.70... NO 10% service charge nor 7% gst!!!
...generally good services, good food and value for money... as for the nepali cuisines i have my reservation, perhaps wait till i try their other nepali cuisines :)

my 3rd time having klunch @jb neway ktv... 1st, 2nd and 3rd times all the 'makan sets' different... this 3rd time 1 soft drink, 1 set lunch and 'salad, fruit, soup buffet'... 13 of us, besides the klunch, my sis bought a half kilo cake [with free bottle of mock champagne]...total bill rm145 (about s$60)

after previous experience... 'room 1...the 'projector on white screen' not sharp... the lyrics on the screen still blur when the lighting totally turned off...but can't see the wordings on the remote controller in total darkness...so rather handicap' ...this time round i told the counter girl i don't want room 1 or any 'projector room'... she gave us room 2 and assured us that is a big tv one :)

soft drink got hot/cold coffee, tea, milo or coke, 7-up with or without lemon...

i cut the chicken into small pieces for rachel...

the mushroom soup is our favorite, both young n older ones... n the older ones love the fruit salad with 'diluted shrimp paste' [like the rojak sauce]... noted that many fruit stalls in malaysia provide such 'diluted shrimp paste'...why singapore fruit stalls no have one :(

rachel first time sing K...she enjoyed singing reading aloud the lyrics hahaha... the older little ones could not stand her at first...until i reminded them that they did that too when they were her age lol...

happy birthday to renmin :)

rachel loves 'a thousand years' so much...sang read aloud almost the whole song and was humming the chorus on our way back...
